System Layers
- FOUNDATION LAYER - Data Infrastructure, Baselines and Lifecycle Assessment (LCA)
The scientific and analytical core of the system.
This layer defines the Data infrastructure, Baselines, System Boundaries, Functional Units and reference study periods, Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) boundaries and Data Quality requirements needed to measure Impact consistently across climate, water, biodiversity, soil and ecosystem conditions.
Includes:
- Data structures and interoperable datasets
- Defined System Boundaries and Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) boundaries: A1–C4 Lifecycle Boundary or LCA-light
- Functional Units and reference study periods
- ESRS-aligned Baselines
- Climate, water, biodiversity, soil and ecosystem Baseline structures
- Environmental Context Indicators: heat risk, flood risk, drought Exposure and biodiversity sensitivity
- Data Quality (DQ1–DQ4), traceability and assumption controls
- Methodological rules and calculation requirements
